One of the all-time best books for life and work, IMHO, is Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. While coaching a client the other day I was reminded of one of its lessons: "First things First" and the story of the rocks. Do you know the story? In a nutshell : imagine a wide mouth jar and an assortment of rocks, gravel, and sand. If you fill the jar first with sand and gravel, there's no room for the bigger rocks. But if you put the big rocks in first, gravel and sand can fit around the rocks. The bigger rocks represent your most important priorities in life. Making time for them first ensures they get your time, energy, and enthusiasm. What are your "big rocks?" Do you put them first?

What are your favorite lessons from Stephen Covey? Can you name the 7 habits?
